Northampton based sheet metal Company Henderson Fabrications have just taken delivery of a Computer Controlled Laser Cutter which will broaden the repertoire of services they can offer customers and hopefully attract some new business.
“This machine will open up a variety of new services that we can now offer. It enables us to cut up to 12mm thick mild steel and 8mm thick stainless steel to any shape that is required.” said managing director Stephen O’Looney.
“It is an extremely fast and accurate machine, capable of cutting 3000mm x 1500mm sheets. And with virtually no set up time and no tooling costs, samples and prototypes can be made very quickly at low costs which these days it what we need to be offering our customers.”
Henderson Fabrications already has an array of equipment to cope with most aspects of the sheet metal industry including 4 CNC Trumpf Punching Machines and 9 CNC Folding Machines, but felt the time was right to fill the only gap in the market that they had not got covered.
“We have found that there is plenty of work to be had providing you offer a good service at the right price. We had seen a slight upturn in the amount of Laser cut work that we were subbing out because it did not lend itself to being punched. This we know is not what’s best for our customers so we felt the time was right to invest in a laser of our own. That way we can be even quicker and more competitive”.
